DIRECTIONS TO THE UM CAMPUS
When on US1, turn onto Stanford Drive and continue driving straight over Ponce de Leon. This is the main entrance into the University. The street is lined with palm trees and there is a guard shack on your left. Go through the left side of the guard shack. They most likely will let you pass without stopping you but if they do, just say you are there for a swim lesson at the UM pool.
DIRECTIONS TO THE POOL
The pool is located in the Whitten University Center, or UC. After you have parked in the garage or Visitor’s lot, walk toward the center of campus across the footbridge and into the UC. You will see a green sign near the ceiling that says “Reservations Office & Swimming Pool”. The Oasis café is on your right, and if you pass Sbarro you have gone too far. Go in the doors on your left. Tell the desk staff you are here for a swim lesson and then proceed straight through the doors that lead you onto the pool deck.
If you parked at a meter along Stanford Drive, the building on your left when you are turned away from US1 is the UC. Follow the same directions as above to find the pool.
PARKING OPTIONS ON CAMPUS
Parking Options on Campus There is metered parking all along Stanford Drive. The meter cost is $1 per hour. If possible, park in a meter closer to the roundabout at the end of Stanford Drive. The hours for the meters on campus are from 9am to 10pm, excluding holidays and Sundays.
A Visitor’s lot is available as well. It is metered parking, the cost is $1 per hour, and the hours are from 9am to 10pm, excluding holidays and Sundays. When you stop at the guard shack on Stanford drive, ask for the code to the Visitor’s lot. You will need this code to get into the lot. After receiving the code and passing the guard shack, make the second left onto Geo C. Merrick. Follow this road straight and then around to the left. Just past the left bend in the road, turn left into the Visitor’s lot. Pavia Garage is also open for parking. You can purchase a parking pass at the guard shack when you drive in on Stanford Drive, or there is a machine inside the garage by the elevators. The cost is $1 per hour and they take credit cards and cash. After you turn onto Stanford Drive and pass the guard shack on your left, make the first left onto Levante. You will see Canterbury Preschool on your left. Continue driving then take the next right which is Pavia Road. The garage will now be on your left. The entrance is down that street on your left. The University does not ticket after 4pm in the garage.
DIRECTIONS TO THE HURRICANE AQUATICS OFFICE
Once you have walked out onto the pool deck, turn left. There is a giant score board on the wall and underneath the score board is a set of doors. Open that door and proceed up the stairs. Our desk is the first one you see after coming up the stairs.
